TCM Practitioner: For qualified graduates of approved acupuncture or Chinese medicine courses
(5 year full time undergraduate or 4 year post-graduate master degree with acupuncture, herbal medicine and tuina training) in a close connection with a Slovenian institute, organization or association. -
Acupuncturist: For qualified graduates of approved acupuncture courses (3 year full time) in a close connection with a Slovenian institute, organization or association.

Herbalist: For qualified graduates of approved Chinese herbal medicine courses (3 year full time) in a close connection with a Slovenian institute, organization or association.

Tuina therapist: For qualified graduates of approved TCM remedial massage/Tuina courses (3 year full time) in a close connection with a Slovenian institute, organization or association.

Medical Qigong Therapist: For qualified graduate of recognized TCM Medical Qigong Training (3 years full-time study) in a close connection with a Slovenian institute, organization or association.

TCM Healer License application (Zdravilec)
The Ministry of Health website contains information and an application for obtaining the first license to practice medicinal activities.
To practice Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as a healing method, you need a healer's license (Zdravilec). The conditions for obtaining a healer's license are listed on the Ministry of Health website. In addition to the TCM education certificate and the Opinion on Professional Qualification (issued by the SZKMA), you also need at least a secondary medical education or secondary education in any other field and a health content test passed by the Ministry of Health.
The basic conditions for issuing an Opinion on Professional Competence are:

Completed 3-year full-time bachelor's degree or ETCMA entry-level education in Traditional Chinese Medicine or Acupuncture or Tuina.

For those who do not obtain a degree, the applicant must at least fulfill the WHO benchmark of training in Traditional Chinese Medicine or Acupuncture or Tuina.

Processing fee:

There is NO charge for processing an application to an applicant who is a member and has paid membership fees to the SZKMA for the last two years.

If the applicant has been an active member of the SZKMA for a year or less, the processing fee is €300.

For applicants who are not members of the SZKMA, the processing fee is €400.
The application will only be considered after submitting proof of payment of the application fee. Upon receipt of the application or issuance of a negative opinion, the application processing fee is not refunded. The application will be processed within 20 work days upon the confirmation of payment.

The code is based on a set of core values, which registrants must uphold in their relationships with their clients, members of their own profession, other health care providers, and the public.
